ABOUT US:
Mission statement
Our goal is to teach quality Martial Arts, training the mind in the moral values of Taekwondo and the body in fitness and self-defense.
What is Taekwondo?
Taekwondo is a Korean Martial Art that translates to, “The Way of the Hand and Foot”. Students learn self-defense, train stamina, flexibility, strength, and endurance. Equally as important, students also learn about the moral part of Martial Arts, which is preventing fights, situational awareness for safety, training mental fortitude, courage, confidence, and humility. Humility includes having courtesy, respect, and obedience for one’s parents, teachers, country. In Martial Arts, students are also trained to have the perseverance to finish what they begin, as all good things take time to achieve.
Mr. McMURRAY
Mr. McMurray is a Fourth Degree Black Belt, Nationally Certified Instructor, and Internationally Certified Personal Trainer. He enrolled in Taekwondo in Windsor, California, 2007. He needed to learn self-defense as a child to protect himself. He continued on with Martial Arts, falling in love with the ideals of peace, strength, bettering oneself, and then helping others grow through the ranks as well. He became certified as an instructor in 2016 and began teaching at his instructor’s school. In February 2019, Mr. McMurray opened his own school in Venice, Florida. While the school was in its infancy, and also recovering from low enrollment due to COVID, Mr. McMurray moved to Tampa to study for his Bachelor’s in Arts, majoring in World Languages and Cultures with a Concentration in Spanish and Latin American Studies. During these years, Mr. McMurray drove to Venice three days a week to teach Taekwondo classes in Venice. In May of 2024, he completed his bachelor’s degree and since then has been focusing his time on the TKD school.
